Keeping our bodies healthy involves eating well and exercising regularly. But to ensure you’re truly balanced, you need to learn how to unblock the energy that can heal your soul.

Every person alive has experienced some level of emotional pain or trauma. It’s part of the human condition, but the good news is that soul healing and rebalancing your soul, mind, and body can help.

What is soul healing?

Although some people confuse the two, soul healing is not the same as other forms of therapy. Psychotherapy, for example, has a specific purpose. It’s usually to deal with everyday issues or a specific trauma. But healing your soul is about this and more. It’s also about finding your true life destiny and your authentic inner self.

When I talk about soul healing, I mean finding ways to unblock the energy within. We can use the example of a cluttered house. Imagine your home is full to the brim with unnecessary possessions. They’re covering your path to your front door and getting in the way of what you want to do. To give yourself back your freedom, you need to unclutter the house. It’s the same premise as working on your mind and soul.

If you can find ways to practice self-love at a deep and meaningful level, you allow yourself to grow. Without this kind of self-nurture, you are blocking yourself from reaching your potential. When we learn to love ourselves, we will feel unconditional compassion, oneness, and love, which will make your life fulfilling.

5 methods to help you heal your soul
It can be difficult to take the time to practice self-care and find ways to rebalance your life. We all have commitments and reasons to postpone self-care. Don’t wait for the “right time,” which might never come. You need to make the decision now to try some of the techniques I list below. This is the most important step towards soul healing that you can take.

1. Immerse yourself in nature every day

Most people have a special spot out in nature that helps them relax. If you don’t have one yet, try and find one. Somewhere you can fully absorb the inherent beauty in nature. It’s one of the most easily accessible and realistic ways to take time to heal your soul, mind, and body. When you’ve found your perfect place, stop and look around. You don’t need to be in a magnificent landscape. There is a loving, nurturing essence in every blade of grass, tree, or flower. Connect with everything around you and feel peace permeate into your soul.

2. Treat yourself to a special meal

On a regular basis take time out for yourself. Choose your favourite meal, select the ingredients, and take the time to make it — just for you. Relish the process and receive your own gift.

3. Regularly practice a sacred art

Whether it takes the form of reading a nurturing book, practicing yoga, meditating, or creating a healing space through Tao Calligraphy, prioritize some form of practice. Don’t allow everyday issues to get in the way of the time you set aside for this practice.

4. Pamper yourself

Take a bath, have a deep tissue massage, practice yoga — whatever feels luxurious. This is the time to thank your body and recognise how it serves you.

5. Boost your connection with other people

Schedule time to spend with someone who is special to you. Whether it’s by phone, Zoom, or in person, nurture your connection with people who make you feel cared for and special.
